Bruce Wood opened Wood Special Risk Brokers, LLC in 2001 as a specialty insurance brokerage firm. His strategy in developing and opening Wood Special Risk Brokers as an independent wholesale brokerage firm centered on providing his producing agents with focused professional expertise and expedient service offering agents access to a vast array of specialty Commercial Property, Casualty, Directors & Officers Liability and Professional Liability markets. A primary goal in the strategy of the company is to concentrate on a limited number of producing retail agencies located primarily in the ten southeastern and midwestern states thus affording these producers focused attention in servicing their accounts. Another of Bruce's essential goals is to attract a team of talented, aggressive and knowledgeable brokers to serve as his producer force. Through Bruce's twenty plus years experience in the specialty underwriting and wholesaling marketplace, he has learned that achieving these goals and objectives are imperative and essential in developing, mentoring and maturing a successful wholesale brokering operation. Evidencing support of his focused strategy in opening Wood Special Risk Brokers was his ability and success in gaining access to over 50 specialty markets which include all of the most viable and aggressive markets writing business in today's commercial insurance marketplace.
In 2004, a Managing General Agency operation was established to complement the fast growing brokerage operations. This department focuses on the small to medium sized account, and can offer packages, as well as mono-line coverages. The department has allowed the brokerage staff to offer solutions to their agency producers for all sizes and types of accounts.
